A sculptural architectural finial transformed in the Open Window Restore studio with a richly layered, timeworn finish inspired by aged European garden ornament and collected architectural fragments.
The acorn form is built up with mottled mossy greens, weathered charcoal, earthy umber and touches of softened old gold. Layers of texture and intentionally distressed color give the surface the appearance of a piece that has weathered naturally over many years.
Beautiful displayed alone as a small architectural object or layered into a collected vignette with books, pottery, artwork and other found objects. Its compact scale also makes it an easy addition to a mantel, console, bookshelf or tabletop.
